Zeina Basbous is a Lebanese artist whose work grows out of a lifelong dialogue with form, memory, and emotion.
Born in Rachana, she is the daughter of the modernist sculptor Alfred Basbous, and her artistic language is deeply shaped by this heritage while remaining distinctly her own. She holds a Master’s degree in Graphic Design and Advertising and built a career in the creative field as an art director, and a university instructor, while dedicating herself to her artistic practice. She is also actively involved in the Alfred Basbous Foundation, contributing to the preservation and continuation of her father’s legacy.
Her paintings explore inner states and shifting perceptions of life, where simplicity and intensity meet. Inspired by the idea that connections, both visible and invisible, shape who we are, her work reflects the threads that link us to others and to ourselves, translating emotion into lines, rhythm, and color.
Through her practice, Zeina seeks to transform everyday questions into visual moments that invite reflection, presence, and emotional connection.
